This necklace is probably either 1920s or 1930s vintage and has 5 long carved bone beads. Other accents are 4 large carved ovals with 8 carved tubes, all is subtle shades of light and dark ecru. The balance of the necklace is made up of 10mm round beads to make up the length of 46" The piece is fairly lightweight, so I believe that, aside from the bone beads, it is made from some early plastic material, but definitely not bakelite.
I have left this piece in its original, uncleaned condition, as many collectors prefer them untouched.
The necklace is in great condition and exemplifies the retro look, but would work well with newer items as well. I haven't seen anything quite like this 46" necklace. |
