Vintage hand-carved shell cameo pin/brooch with very fine carving of a woman with flowers in her hair and on her bodice, possibly representing the goddess 'Flora.' The detail of the carving displays the work of a master craftsman and the cameo is set into a sawtooth bezel and then into a simple oval frame. The metal is an unmarked silver with an almost gunmetal color.
This vintage shell cameo probably dates to the 1930s or 40s and is in excellent, original condition. It has a secure safety clasp and a hinged loop so it can be worn either as a pin or pendant. Measurements are 1 1/8 x 1 1/4 x 1/4 inch deep. |
