Elegant, Art Nouveau sash pin in a shield shape of gilt brass. This brooch has the curved lines, floral and foliate designs characteristic of this era. The backgroundhas been finely atched and oxidized to bring out the design elements. An applied filigree echoes the theme and is set with 2 blue rhinestones and a bezel-set, high domed and facetted cobalt glass round.
This Art Nouveau sash pin is in excellent, original condition with superb patina and the older style 'C' clasp. Measurements are 2 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches. This is a substantial piece and a wonderful example of an early sash pin. |
