Type: Jewelry, Vintage Manufacturer: Mexico, Sterling
This is a fascinating, mixed-metal bracelet, signed 'Sterling, Taxco, 925' with tapered links in sterling. There are applied plaques in what looks like gilt brass with sterling figural designs applied over the brass. The figures appear to be mythological themes with a 'birdman' on each end, an old coin which is quite worn, a man with elaborate headdress, an eagle holding a serpent, and a headless sacrificial victim. This vintage Mexican bracelet is in very good condition with some wear on the coin plaque, very nice, unpolished patina and a secure push clasp The spring-like connectors are probably brass. The link width tapers from the center of 1 1/4 inches to 3/4 inch on the end links. Length is 7 inches and each link is curved to hug your wrist. |
