Elegant spiral brooch, signed Maricela, 925, Tasco, Sterling, Hecho in Mexico, dating the brooch to around 1945. The Sterling brooch design is characteristic of Maricela pieces using a simple spiral or snail design with both bright and oxidized finish to bring out the details of the brooch.
This 1940s Maricela brooch is in very good, original and unpolished condition, with a somewhat touchy safety clasp. It does work, but takes a little patience. Size is 1 5/8 x 1 3/4 inches. A great addition to a collection of early Mexican sterling. |
