This diamond-shaped brooch is marked sterling and the traditional NYE in a clover, and so unusual, I contacted the company to confirm its authenticity. They wrote back to me, confirming it to be an early Nye piece, made by melting shearing scrap onto a base in a random way, leaving a heavily oxidized design and a wonderful, dimensional look to the brooch.
This old, rare and unusual Nye sterling brooch is in excellent, original and unpolished condition. It has a secure safety clasp with very slight bend in the pin, but is still quite secure. Size is 1 3/4 x 1 inch. |
